La Maya

La Maya’s professional training has been with the most famous flamenco dancers in Madrid and Seville. Carmen Cortés, Manolo Marín, Javier Cruz, Milagros Mengíbar, Pilar Ortega, La Toná and La Tati are considered her great masters. She performs in Switzerland, Germany and Italy and collaborates with renowned artists like La Antonia, Rubín de la Ana, Carlos el Canario, José Parrondo, Niño Josele and Josele Heredia. She dances at the Flamenco Festival in Germany . In Italy she joins the soprano Monica Trini for Siete Canciones Populares. La Maya tours every year with the group she founded, el Candil. Her frequent engagements with the renowned Quartetto Torres lead her to Slovenia. In Switzerland, La Maya choreographs and dances for El Amor Brujo at the Lenzburger Festwochen and for the famous Opera Carmen at the Festival dell' Opera in Bellinzona. El Grupo Municipal de Almería invites her to Spain as a choreographer and teacher.
La Maya
lives in Lugano, Switzerland, where she teaches at her own dance academy FLAMENCO LA MAYA.
